School to Career

The Henry County School to Career Consortium is a partnership between schools, business and agencies. Activities of the Consortium focus on developing opportunities to prepare all students for the transition from education to the workplace.

• The School to Career Consortium:

  • Is made up of volunteers from the education and business sectors.
  • Organizes numerous county-wide activities throughout the year including: High School "Life Behond Textbooks", Middle School "Ethics in the Workplace", High School "Career Awareness/Fiscal Responsibilities", and the Elementary "Bring Your Work to School Day."

• Mission:

  To develop productive and responsible citizens who are prepared to enter the workforce in an ever-changing society.

• Goal:

  Increase student awareness of workplace knowledge, skills and expectations.

Career Consortium Resource Guide: This on-line Resource Guide for School/Business Partnerships lists businesses in Area 16 (Des Moines, Henry, Lee, and southern Louisa Counties) that are willing to provide learning experiences for students and/or educators, either at the workplace or in the school setting.
