School to Career

The Henry County School-to-Career program is a partnership between schools, business and agencies. The activities focus on developing opportunities to prepare all students for the transition from education to the workplace.

• The School to Career Consortium:

  Is made up of volunteers from the education and business sectors. The Consortium
  • organizes numerous county-wide activities throughout the year including: Middle School Ethics in the Workplace, High School Career Awareness/Fiscal Responsibilities, and the Elementary Bring Your Work to School Day.
  • supports the Hire Me First initiative in New London.
  • provides annual scholarships to graduating seniors.

• Transition Partners:

  Develops programs to assist youth with disabilities in their transition from school to the adult world.

• Youth Development:

  Targets ways to create and support opportunities for youth throughout the County.
