Maternal Health Services is a part of the Maternal and Child Health Program offered by Henry County Public Health. The goal of the Maternal and Child Health Program is to provide the information and support needed to have a healthy pregnancy and healthy baby.
Prenatal and post-partum services, including supportive nursing, dental, nutritional, and social services are provided free to anyone who qualifies. (A sliding scale fee is not used.)
A Registered Nurse will obtain a social history, assist the client in accommodations for delivery, and make referrals to appropriate agencies. Referrals will be made to the local family physician when necessary. Referrals to a dentist will also be made when necessary. Social Services are available from a social worker for referral to appropriate agencies.
Educational materials explaining pregnancy and the growth and development of the fetus are provided free to all mothers.
