Community Partnerships for Protecting Children

This program uses an approach designed to help our community
find new ways to work together so that citizens, neighborhoods,
local organizations, community leaders, and local agencies share
the responsibility for our children's safety.
The Partnership will:
- Organize a network of neighborhood and community
supports to reach families in need.
- Help child protective service agencies change their
traditional policies and practices to become more family
centered and to share the responsibility for child safety
with community groups and partner agencies.
- Develop a new decision-making process to guide our local
Partnership.
- Offer Family Team Meetings, which supports the belief
that families should be in charge of developing their own
solutions to family issues. Community resources can be used
for guidance and support. Trained facilitators are available
for Family Team Meetings. Families may invite the supportive
people in their lives to help develop a plan to keep their
family together and safe.
